10 Non Candy Halloween Treats

Top 10 Non Candy Halloween Treats for Kids

I have a love-hate relationship with Halloween; I love the holiday but hate what all that candy does to the kids.  As a teacher, I have always tried to plan any school events carefully to avoid the dreaded sugary substance. So I put together a list of 10 non candy Halloween treats to use in the classroom.

Non-Candy Halloween Treat Alternatives

In the past, I have scoured the stores searching for Halloween candy alternatives for my class party and the trick-or-treaters that come to my home. Going from store to store looking for treat alternatives is such a pain!

Is it just me or does anybody else get creeped out when people take their babies trick-or-treating? I can’t bring myself to put candy in the bag of a sweet little baby!

With that in mind I decided to create a list of my favorite non-candy Halloween treats.

I’m not saying that any of the items on the list are healthy, some of the items on the list aren’t even food.

  1. I bought a copy of “The Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything” for each of my students from Scholastic. It’s $1.00 in the October flyer. Books are the BEST gifts and this is 1 of my favorites!

  2. I get the book of coupons from Wendys or McDonalds and give one to each child. They are only $1.

  3. I have 48 students in my two sessions of UPK, so I dont buy gifts, even at a dollar each, its too much! I bake some cupcakes for our classroom party, and we play Halloween themed games like pin the nose on the pumpkin, tell Halloween jokes, have a dance party, and call it a day! Fun without the candy!

  4. Great idea! I just stopped at Sam’s Club and found multiple packs of multiple packs!!! Animal Crackers, Frito products, fruit products, etc., all ready for little ghosts and goblins! Thanks for the idea! And the healthy aspect of Halloween! It CAN be done!!!

  5. Walmart also has snack sized separate bags of microwave popcorn. $4.00 for 20 and Scooby fruit roll-ups 26 for either $4 or $5 with a trick or treat zoinks points code on each! Also dollar stores often have stickers, tattoos, spider rings, etc.
