OfficeMax (similar to Staples) has a rewards card for teachers.

https://www.officemaxperks.com/SSOEnrollmentForm.aspx

I signed up online and listed my name/address and the name of our curriculum as our school. You earn $10 for every $75 you spend, plus they offer special discounts on items. They also offer free shipping on over $50 and you can sometimes find online discount codes at retailmenot.com.

Yesterday I found an OfficeMax brand of copy paper on sale, plus $2 off coupon, which made each ream $2! There is a limit of 2 reams per customer.

My husband was a manager at Staples for years. When I would go in for the penny sale, as they call them, many limits are upped to 25 for teachers. I am not sure if it’s still that way this year. It was that way last year when he worked there. It doesn’t hurt to try, and take your badge, I guess. I’ve never had to since they all know me and know that I am a teacher.

Maybe this isn’t specifically a back to school discount – but I recently learned of a grant that PetSmart is offering for teachers (preK through grade 6) to get a pet in their classroom!

You can check out http://www.petsmart.com/teachers and I blogged about it at:

I love those Back to School deals!!!! I always use to enjoy that Staples ad where they would sing, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” I always thought it was so funny how the dad would go dancing through the aisles, grabbing school supplies, as the kid just glared at him, ha ha!
I still haven’t seen those plastic pencil boxes for a penny yet this year, though!!!! I’m still watching for those…..
