edublog awards
It is time for the annual Edublog Awards; in case you’re not familiar with this program it is a way to recognize some of the best blogs and websites in the education field. You will notice that most of my nominations tend to fall into the category of early childhood since that is where I live. Here are just a few of the people that are dedicated to making the internet the best resource for teachers.

  • Best Individual Blog: Look at My Happy Rainbow by Matt Halpern. I look forward to reading Matt’s insightful and heartfelt posts daily, they’re like medicine- the good kind that tastes like bubble gum.
  • Best Individual Tweeter: Deborah J. Stewart @Teach Preschool. I don’t know how she finds the time to do it all, she’s like Super Woman! Deborah tweets about #ece and #preschool daily, her tweets are read and retweeted around the world by more than 3,500 tweeps.
  • Best Resource Sharing Blog: Prekinders by Karen Cox. I’ve known Karen for 10 years or more now, in internet years that’s like forever! She is a truly nice person who always goes the extra mile to help her fans, readers, and cyber-friends. Karen shares only the best of her own, creative early childhood printables with her huge network of fans and readers.
  • Best Educational Use of Video: Heidisongs If you haven’t heard of Heidisongs yet you’ve obviously been living under a rock- or maybe a pile of assessments and report cards. Heidi has taken the early childhood world by storm with her creative and highly effective music DVD’s that help children learn numbers, shapes, letters, sight words and more using a multi-sensory method.
  • Best Educational Use of Audio: I’m nominating Heidisongs for both the audio and video categories since her educational music DVD’s fall into both categories.

Thank you for sharing your creativity and ideas with the world!
