8:10am- school begins
Students are not permitted in the classroom before 7:50am. If
your child is not eating breakfast he or she should enter
through the back doors (by Even Start) and wait there, they will
be supervised by Carrollton Staff. Pre-K students may be
dropped off in the back hallway beginning at 7:30am. The back
door will be locked at 7:50am, if you arrive after 7:50am your
child will need to be dropped off at the front doors. If you
drop off your child at the front doors please make sure he or
she knows how to find our classroom independently. It is the
parent’s responsibility to inform daycare providers of our class
times, early dismissals, and holidays

 |
What time does

Can my
child attend the After the Bell program?
The answer to this question depends on the age of
your child. The After the Bell program is only offered to
students who are 5 years old. If your child is 5 years old and
you would like to enroll him in the ATB program please go to the
front office to request the paperwork. If your child is not 5
years old he will not be able to attend the ATB program. ATB is
federally funded program for children ages 5 and up, no
exceptions |
 |
Can my child eat
breakfast at school? Yes,
breakfast is served in the cafeteria daily before school. If
you would like your child to eat breakfast at school it is best
to be here no later than 7:30 so your child will have time to
eat breakfast before the first bell rings at 7:50. You may sit
with your child in the cafeteria while they eat breakfast. If
your child will be eating breakfast alone please be sure they
know how to pay or punch their ID number into the computer
independently. The cafeteria stops serving breakfast at 7:50am
so please make sure your child is here in time to eat.
|
 |
Will my child
be taking a nap at school?
We
will be offering all Pre-K students a “Body Break” daily after
gym. Please send a child sized towel to school with your child
in his or her backpack daily for this reason. Please wash the
towel every weekend so your child will have a clean, safe place
to rest. |
 |
What
if my child is late for school?
We
understand that there may be instances when it is not possible to
be here on time. However, please try to have your child at school on time
so we can begin our day together. If your child
is late he or she will be missing many valuable learning
experiences which may impact the learning process. Tardies will be noted on report
cards and habitual tardiness may affect your child's progress in
Pre-Kindergarten.
|
 |
What
is the attendance policy?
Regular, on-time attendance at school is vital to your child's
success. Most Pre-K learning activities take place in
a large group setting and involve interaction with classmates.
|
 |
IMPORTANT:
If you
are considering leaving the country mid-year, we encourage
you to consider the effect it will have on your child's education.
By leaving the country for extended periods of time, you are
disrupting your child's education in addition to jeopardizing your
place in our program. We cannot guarantee a place will be
available for your child in our program upon your return.
Children learn best when they consistently attend school.
Also, because most of our instruction is hands-on and interactive,
make-up work will not be given.
|
 |
Will my child be
eating lunch at school?
Yes, we will be
serving lunch to all pre-k students in the cafeteria daily. All
students are encouraged to eat independently; feeding of students
is not permitted. Please do not ask teachers or other staff
members to feed your child or force them to eat. Students are not
allowed to take any food or beverages out of the cafeteria.
|
 |
How do I pay for my
child's meals?
Parents are encouraged to go to the cafeteria and deposit money in
their child’s account when necessary. It is the parent’s
responsibility to pay for all meals in the cafeteria; please do
not send any cafeteria money to the teacher. If your child
receives free lunch then there is no need for you to deposit any
money in their account. If you are going to deposit money in your
child's account please explain to them how you expect them to use
it. Many children who have money in their account use the
money to buy only junk food like cookies, chips, and Gatorade in
the cafeteria. Thank you for helping your child be healthy.

Pre-K students to handle independently. Backpacks will
be used daily to hold your child's many important papers and
projects as well as a daily B.E.A.R. book containing our class

I bring treats to school for my child's birthday?

your child’s birthday. The cookies or cupcakes will be
distributed during lunch or snack. We do not allow birthday
cakes or parties in the classroom. We do not have the tools
for serving cakes (plates, knives, forks etc) and cutting and
serving cake is time consuming and messy. Birthday parties in
the classroom are not possible as they take away from
instructional time. Also, please keep in mind that not all
students celebrate birthdays and some children may not be able
to participate in birthday celebrations at all. We will provide
students celebrating birthdays with many special "birthday
privileges" such as; a birthday story, birthday sticker,
birthday song, and a birthday backpack to take home.
NO BIRTHDAY CAKES OR PARTIES PLEASE!!!!

are unable to come to school to help but are interested in
having projects sent home to cut or color, please let your
teacher know. |
