Web Design Tips

Graphics

The following are some of the graphic artists that created the graphics I used on this site.  You can use free graphics (linkware), or you can pay for them.  Just remember to always give graphic artists credit on EVERY page and to read and abide by their terms carefully!

Web Magic

Have  you ever wondered, how did they do that?  Well now is your chance to create some web magic of your own.  You don't even have to know HTML to do it.

Dynamic Drive has scripts for everything, and it's all FREE!  Everything from No Right Click scripts to Mouse Overs.

Lisa's site says it's for kids, but we adults think it's pretty handy too!  Her explanations are easy to understand for us "non-techies".   She has cursors and helpful info on inserting tables, borders, and more.

Midi's

Adding midi's (music) to your site can be addicting- be careful!  Here are some sites that I found helpful when midi hunting.

Laura's MIDI Heaven Laura's Midi Heaven has a vast selection of midi's for your site.  I especially like the piano pieces, they have very good sound quality.
NSO's Midi Help If you need help inserting a midi NSO has a great help page.
NIEHS Midi Page NIEHS has a good selection of children's Midi's for your website.

Web Hosting

Web hosting is probably the most important part of the whole web design process.  Choosing your web host is very overwhelming because there are so many hosts out there.  Here are some that I know of:

Yahoo! I'm currently hosted by Yahoo! because I prefer to not have ads appear on my site.
Homepage Now This site has some great templates, all the work is already done for you, very nice.
Brave Net Bravenet has many great things to offer, everything from customized guest books, to guest maps and free web hosting.
Google Just by doing a Google search using "Free Web Host" or something similar you will get 100's of hits.
