Garage Sales, Dollar Stores, and Thrift Shops- Oh My!
 |
You know
you’re an early childhood educator if you can’t walk by a garage sale,
dollar store, or thrift shop without stopping in just for a “quick
look.” Lack of supplies and funding are some of the biggest challenges
facing teachers today. This is why the lure of garage sales, dollar
stores, and thrift shops is so great. Most teachers have more
creativity than money, so careful shopping can provide many teaching
tools at an affordable price. We will explore successful and
practical bargain hunting tactics, ways to s-t-r-e-t-c-h those
hard earned dollars, and how to get good stuff for practically
nothing. Approximate length: 1-1 1/2 hours |

Using
Interactive Whiteboard Technology in the Early Childhood Classroom
 |
Turn your teaching woes in teaching “whoas!” with
interactive whiteboard technology. Consistent, daily use of this
new technology will take both you and your students to a whole new
level of teaching and learning you never before imagined.
Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers can easily integrate
interactive whiteboard technology into every facet of their daily
routines. The use of an interactive whiteboard increases student
motivation and also deepens understanding of concepts being taught
by allowing students to manipulate the board independently.
Everything from calendar time to
graphic organizers can be explored via an interactive whiteboard.
We will discuss and show examples of how to make your entire day
completely interactive using the Promethean ACTIV board. The use of
an interactive whiteboard in the Pre-K or Kindergarten classroom
will revolutionize the way you teach and the way your students
learn.
