Halloween I Spy Literacy Bottle

I was inspired to create my own version of an I-Spy bottled by this post from She’s Kinda Crafty.

Supplies for Making a Halloween I Spy Bottle

  • 1 plastic VOSS water bottle {$2 @ local grocery store}
  • 1 bag plastic pellets
  • Dress It Up brand Halloween buttons
  • E6000 glue
  • Optional: Seasonal ribbon or washi tape {on hand}

Directions for Making Halloween I Spy Bottles

First, I filled a clean, dry plastic VOSS water bottle halfway with the plastic pellets.

Next, I added half of my buttons followed by more pellets and the rest of the buttons. It’s better not to fill the bottle all the way to the top or the objects won’t move around when you shake it.

Finally, I sealed the lid closed with E6000 glue and added a ribbon around the top, but washi tape would work well too.

Tip for Making Halloween I Spy Bottles

I bought a very large bag of the plastic pellets to fill the bottle, there’s probably enough left to fill another one- so stay tuned for more bottle fun!

I like the plastic VOSS water bottle because it is very sturdy and the mouth is large so it was easy to fit the buttons inside; if I had used a regular water bottle the buttons would not have fit through the top.

While this project was a little more pricey than I would prefer, the bottle will last for many years so I consider it an investment.
