I love the story of The Little Red Hen! It’s the perfect book to read to your preschool or kindergarten class in the spring. Not only does it talk about planting and seeds, but it also has a great message.

Free Little Red Hen Printable
I created this free printable to go along with the story of The Little Red Hen. The animals included in this printable are similar to those found in my favorite version of the story illustrated by Lucinda McQueen.
On the first page of this free printable there are pictures of characters, some from the story and some that are not. On the second page there is a t-chart that has picture cues at the top to support non-readers.
How to Use the Free Little Red Hen Printable
Students cut out the pictures of the characters and glue them to the correct side of the t-chart. One side of the chart is titled “Characters in the story” and the other is titled “Characters not in the story.” This activity can be used to assess beginning comprehension skills, following directions, and cutting.
