What are your plans this summer? I’m super excited to be presenting another of my teacher workshops at the SDE PreK-1 Educators Academy in Chicago on July 20-22.

Would you like to go too? Oh, what’s that you say? Can’t afford the registration? No worries, how about a chance to go for free? The nice people at SDE have generously donated one free registration to the Educators Academy! Keep reading to find out how you can enter for a chance to attend this exciting event.
About the Event
If you teach Pre-K, Kindergarten, or First Grade and you’re looking for help implementing the Common Core State Standards in your classroom then this conference is for you. My Pre-K friends may be wondering why they are included since there are no national CCSS for Pre-K. The Pre-K sessions will focus on how to support the development of skills that will prepare your students for the rigors of the CCSS in Kindergarten.
On Day 1 you will Build Your Foundation for Success. Day 2 will kick-off with a keynote from educator and award-winning author Stephen Layne and then we will break up into our cohort groups to explore and unpack individual English Language Arts Common Core Standards. Day 2 also includes an ELA make and take session. Day 3 starts off with a keynote from author and math guru Greg Teng; then we will break up into our groups again to explore and unpack individual Math Common Core Standards. Day 3 also includes a math make and take session. Finally, we end Day 3 with a keynote from The Accidental Techie, Lori Elliot.
Oh, and I almost forgot about the on-line extras! There are nine webinars included with your registration that will take place throughout the 2013-2014 school year to extend your learning, you can find out more about the webinars here.
