Scholastic Warehouse Book Sale
Did you know that a few times each year Scholastic opens up their warehouses to the public? You can visit the warehouse nearest you and get huge discounts on books and more.
I have been going to Scholastic warehouse book sales for 20 years and have shopped the sales in three states and four cities. I am often asked about the sales and what to expect so I took my camera along this weekend and created a video detailing my experience for you. Click on the video below to get a sneak peek inside a warehouse sale.
Who should go to the sale?
Warehouse Sales are exclusively for:
- School Employees
- School District Personnel
- Homeschoolers
- Book Fair Chairpersons
- Book Fair Volunteers

Coupons
I know, you’re thinking how much better could it get, right? Well it does get better! If you register for the sale on-line in advance you receive a coupon for $10 or $25 off your purchase.

At some sale locations they offer Build-a-Box which is a box full of books that you choose from a certain section of the warehouse for only $24.95. They also have a .50 cent section for gently handled or irregular merchandise. This is usually the stuff that gets “loved” too much by little hands at the regular school sales. You can also get free books by volunteering to work a shift at the sale.
What do they have at the sale?
This is the big question I am asked most often about the sales. Here are just some of the things you will find when you go to a Scholastic warehouse book sale:
- Books
- Toys
- Games
- Prizes
- Cookbooks
- Posters
- Big Books

Here’s my latest Scholastic warehouse haul above. Some of my best finds from past sales have been a cardboard Clifford dog house, Clifford Beanie Babies, and Clifford pencil top erasers.
