Learning Letter Sounds with Talk Blocks

learning resources talk blocks
Have you heard about Learning Resources Talk Blocks yet? These things are so cool! When I first saw them my mind was spinning with all the different ways I could use them in the classroom.

This short video below demonstrates my first idea for using Talk Blocks to teach initial sounds.

I use the same talk blocks in my reading area, books are stored on the talk block along with a hard copy of the book and the children can “read” along with the story whenever they want. The only problem is that it has to be a sort story since the record time isn’t long enough for a long book.

But I love this idea!

Great idea, but I only need 1 for small group activity! I won’t be able to talk my director into the price…fiddlesticks!!!

Can you find 4 other teachers into going in on the blocks with you?
