Week of the Young Child

This week early childhood educators across the U.S. are celebrating the Week of the Young Child. This is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, or NAEYC for short. The purpose of this event is to celebrate young children, their families, and the programs that serve them in addition to recognizing early childhood professionals. During the Week of the Young Child many early childhood organizations and programs plan activities to celebrate children, families, and teachers within the community.

Trainer of the Year

I am a NAEYC member and I also serve on the board of my local AEYC affiliate here in Collin County, Texas. Last night we held our annual awards banquet; it was a great honor to be nominated and to receive the Trainer of the Year award. Here I am above with CCAEYC President, Al Stewart. All members of the board worked together to host this fun and festive event.

I enjoy working with early childhood teachers as a consultant and trainer, I hope I will have an opportunity to work with you in the coming year. You can check my schedule here to see if I will be in your area.

  1. We have many things going on from having a variety of community helpers coming to visit us like the Borger Fire Deparment to the local WIC office nurses to show the children how important it is to be physicaly fit. But our main event takes place on Thursday when my pre~k class participates in the “65 Roses ” walk. (they are walking to raise money for cystic fibrosis) The Week of the Young Child is my favorite week in the year!!!!
