Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

Last week I presented at the SDE Conference for Pre-K and Kindergarten Teachers in Minnesota. While I was there I met John Archambault, co-author of my favorite children’s book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! I also had a chance to visit with Heidi Butkus, Kim Adsit, Shari Sloane, and Cindy Middendorf- I was very honored to even be allowed in the same room with them :) Next time I will have to remember to get out my camera more often!

In my last session of the day somebody mentioned how I had planned my session well by including ideas to go along with some of John Archambault’s books. It didn’t even occur to me until she mentioned it that I had brought those things, what luck! I’m including both of these “happy accident” ideas for you here.

This is a class book I make at the beginning of the year to go along with Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault’s book Here Are Our Hands.

Shark Tank
Of course I managed a quick trip (or two!) to the Mall of America while I was there. That’s Heidi of Heidisongs on the left, notice how she dressed for the freezing cold weather and I did not- brrr!
