Preschool Literacy with a Fire Safety Theme

Alphabet Letter Matching
Find the cards with the same letters. At first, preschoolers can match uppercase letters to matching uppercase (or lowercase to lowercase). As they master finding letters that are the same, introduce matching uppercase to lowercase. Fire Safety Rhyming Game
Rhyming is an important part of developing phonological awareness. Students can begin to hear sounds in words and determine which sounds are the same and which are not. Fire Safety Beginning Sounds Activity
Your kids will love this beginning sounds matching activity. Beginning sounds are an important part of developing phonological awareness skills. In this activity, students will identify the beginning sound of each picture inside the flame and match the flame sound pictures with the corresponding beginning letter. Fire Safety Syllable Activity
This activity combines vocabulary development with syllable identification. Students identify the pictures and the number of syllables in each word, and then build towers using cubes to match the number of syllables in each word. This activity is available in the Fire Safety Bundle.
In another syllables game, preschoolers identify the picture and the number of syllables in each word. They roll the action cube and perform the corresponding number of actions. Then they place the picture card in the pocket chart underneath the correct number of fingers.
