It’s tough to stay focused on academics at this time of the year with Christmas just around the corner!
I created a few fun literacy activities for a Christmas theme to help keep your students engaged and on-task.
Christmas Literacy Activities
The Ho! Ho! Ho! Alphabet game includes two versions, one to reinforce uppercase letter recognition and one for lowercase.
Students will take turns drawing a card, identifying the letter, and marking it on their recording sheet.
When the Ho! Ho! Ho! card is drawn all the students say “Ho! Ho! Ho!” like Santa. Both games include black and white and color game cards as well as a recording sheet.
Christmas Syllable Activity
Did you know Santa carries three bags? That’s right! One for toys that have one syllable, one for toys that have two syllables, and one for toys that have three syllables 😉
In this game students will identify the pictures of the toys, clap the syllables, and place them in the correct bag. The Christmas Syllable game also includes a recording sheet.
You can also find activities for beginning sounds, concepts of print, and rhyming on the Christmas page.
Don’t miss the 8 free printables at the bottom of the Christmas page, including the 22 page Holiday Classroom Party Planner!
My class loves the story about the Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell. I can’t wait to use t his new printable with them! Great Job!
