Fun Halloween Activities For Preschoolers

Spider Web Rubbing – Use liquid glue to create a spider web. After the glue dries, place paper over the web and rub with a crayon. This is a great activity for developing fine motor control. See more here: Spider Web Rubbing Activity

Mini-Pumpkins – You will need a mini-pumpkin for each child. Use a Sharpie marker to draw the outline of a Jack ‘O Lantern face on each mini-pumpkin. Guide the students dip cotton swabs in liquid glue and fill in the outline with a thin layer of glue. Next, shake glitter over the glue and let dry. These Jack ‘O Lanterns look Spooktacular when finished!

Paper Plate Jack O’ Lantern – Give each student a small paper plate. Tell them to use small paintbrushes to brush a thin layer of liquid glue over the plates. Tell students to press orange tissue paper squares on the plate, covering it. Provide black triangles for eyes and nose and black mouth shapes for students to add to their jack o’lanterns with more glue. When the paper is dry, brush a thin layer of liquid starch over the top to create a “glazed” look.

Trick or Treat Lift-the-Flap – For each student, take a large sheet of construction paper and fold it hot-dog style; open up the paper and lay it flat on the table. Make three evenly spaced cuts in the paper, from bottom to the fold line, creating 4 flaps. Fold the paper back to the hot-dog shape, with flaps on top. On each flap, write Trick or Treat. Tell students to open each flap and draw someone behind the “door” that is trick-or-treating.

S’mores Treat Bag Topper – Use this topper on a ziplock bag with s’mores treats inside.
One recipe for a treat bag: 2 ghost marshmallows, a tablespoon of chocolate chips, and a handful of graham cereal or graham teddy bears. Seal the bag and add the topper.
