Washi Tape
Washi tape is a very popular decorative paper tape that originated in Japan; it comes in many colors and designs. You can find washi tape at most craft stores; just ask for washi tape or decorative paper tape.
Invite the children to decorate the outer ring of the Mason jar lid with strips of colorful washi tape.
Mason Jar Lid Ornament Finishing Touches
Turn the lid front over and place it inside the ring, then secure it in place with hot glue.
After the adorable ornament is assembled, use the hot glue gun to attach a piece of ribbon to the back for hanging.
Mason Jar Lid Refrigerator Magnet
If you have families that do not celebrate Christmas you can use non-seasonal scrapbook paper and washi tape.
Reverse the direction of the inner piece of the lid so the picture is facing inward, and then attach a magnet to the back instead of a ribbon.
